The
Challenge
Before State
The warehouse floor had never been professionally cleaned and had accumulated years of dust, grease, tyre marks, and embedded grime. The site required more than a standard scrub because the buildup had reached a level that affected both presentation and hygiene.
Technical Pain Points
The warehouse included a large floor area with heavy grease and dust build-up that required staged preparation before machine scrubbing could be effective. Corners and edges also required manual treatment to ensure cleaning consistency across the full footprint.
Time & Event Pressure
The project had to be completed over a single weekend to ensure the facility was ready for Monday morning. Presentation expectations were exceptionally high because the site was being prepared for ministerial attendance, live demonstrations, and a product launch.
Emotional & Commercial Pressure
The client needed confidence that the warehouse would be ready for public and stakeholder scrutiny in a short timeframe. PPSG needed to deliver a visible result quickly, with no disruption to weekday operations and no room for delay.
The
Solution
Following a detailed site assessment, Performance Property Services Group implemented a staged floor preparation and restoration process designed to maximise cleaning results within the available weekend window.
Key elements of the implementation included:
● Detailed site assessment to evaluate floor condition and contamination levels
● Pre-sweeping the warehouse floors twice to remove loose debris and heavy dust build-up
● Wetting the floor before chemical treatment
● Applying a thin layer of heavy-duty degreaser using a spray application system
● Allowing the degreaser to dwell for approximately 15 minutes to break down grease and embedded dirt
● Assessing floor conditions before proceeding with machine scrubbing
● Using an industrial floor scrubber to clean and restore the main warehouse floor
● Manually scrubbing corners and edges to ensure consistency across the full warehouse
● Conducting final detailing and presentation inspections before handover
● Coordinating all works over the weekend to avoid disruption to the client’s weekday operations
● Completing the project in time for Monday launch readiness
The
Results
The project delivered a presentation-ready warehouse environment under tight deadline conditions and created a pathway for long-term maintenance.
Quantifiable metrics and outcomes:
● Weekend turnaround completed before Monday morning
● Warehouse floors pre-swept 2 times before restoration cleaning
● Degreaser dwell time of approximately 15 minutes used to break down embedded grease and dirt
● 1 urgent one-off clean converted into 1 quarterly ongoing maintenance program
● 100% readiness achieved for the scheduled ministerial product launch and live demonstrations
● Improved warehouse presentation and hygiene across the site
● Manual edge and corner scrubbing completed to improve consistency across inaccessible areas
● Client highly satisfied with the completed result
● Facility delivered to a presentation-ready standard within the required timeframe
